Urgent Part 2: Statement to Council

Hello again [[firstname]],

Sorry to be back in your inbox so soon. We are incredibly grateful for everyone's continued support as we fight for the future of GSTC, and the high number of statements submitted demonstrates the strength of our community. This collective effort is deeply motivating and reinforces our commitment to working tirelessly to save the club.

We have another urgent request; There is another important council meeting taking place on the 11th September. This is the Public Health and Communities Committee. Although the future of GSCT is not on the agenda of the meeting on the 11th, ultimately this committee is where the decisions will be made as to our future.

As with the full council meeting on the 8th It would be helpful to our cause if as many people as possible submit statements and questions in order to raise awareness with councillors and demonstrate the strength of feeling about the future of GSTC. If you wish to, please can we ask that you submit a statement and/or a question using the electronic form below. If you previously submitted a statement to the full council meeting on the 8th, you can just use the same one again.

The deadline for submitting questions is 5pm on Monday 7th September and the deadline for submitting statements is 12 noon on Wednesday 9th September.

At the end there is an option to say that you will attend the meeting to read your statement and or ask your question. Thank you if you are able to do this.

In terms of the statement, obviously feel free to write what you wish but a couple of points that would be helpful to include:

Tell your own story of what the club provides for you and why you enjoy it.
The council's stated aims are for the courts to be accessible, affordable and inclusive.
Can you give any personal examples of how the current provision through GSTC already meets these aims?

In terms of questions. Again, any relating to the courts already being accessible, affordable and inclusive (with personal examples if possible), and therefore what is the rationale for putting the management of the courts out to consultation would be helpful. Also any questions looking for confirmation that the current arrangements will continue if the club can demonstrate that we already meet these aims (which we do).
